Welcome to Curbed Philly, a site that takes our nickname—the City of Neighborhoods—to heart. If all goes as planned, Curbed Philly should serve as your hub for all things urban from architecture to street art, preservation to destruction, not to mention the shenanigans and neighborhood characters that power this absurd and very lovable town.
Curbed Philly is the newest site in the Curbed Network, and aims to satisfy those who obsess (healthfully) over neighborhood renamings; who debate catchment issues on online forums; who get excited by Francisville development or Rittenhouse rumors; who argue with friends about street art vs. murals; who'd like to have a LEED-certified mini-house along the Reading Viaduct one day; and who feel Ed Bacon, not Kevin, was the real celebrity. Native Philadelphian Liz Spikol takes the helm as Curbed Philly's editor.
Here's a quick user's guide: Tune in early every morning for a summary of the big news you slept through; then come back throughout the day (add us to your RSS, why not?) for features like CornerSpotter, That's Rather Hideous, Development Watch and Rent Don't Buy, plus neighborhood and real estate news as it happens. It's that simple. Got a web browser? You've got Curbed Philly.
Finally! Should you be so inclined, dear reader, do ping our tipline with tips, scoops, rumors, rants and suggestions: philly@curbed.com. We want to hear from you. Like now: Tell us the selling points for Club Ozz on Girard Avenue or explain why the one-percenters aren't snapping up a Society Hill mansion with major Kennedy connections.
(And! Also launching today, under the editorship of the redoubtable Collin Flatt is Eater Philly, for all your restaurant and nightlife news and goings-on.)
