T.G.I.F.! In addition to Saturday's book signing with The Sartorialist, the weekend is jam-packed as DesignPhiladelphia takes over downtown, and a mill warehouse sale and a flea market lure shoppers out of center city.
In the market for some industrial furniture? Who isn't! The vintage/found object superstars behind Manayunk's Three Potato Four have organized a Mill and Warehouse Sale to take place this Saturday in Mt. Airy. Offering the contents of a local Philadelphia mill, the outdoor event promises shoppers everything from work tables, carts, and factory parts, to tools and sewing accoutrements. A handful of antique dealers will also be at the event to peddle their industrial-themed wares.
Be sure to stop by East Passyunk Avenue on Saturday, as area shops are set to host a smattering of events related to DesignPhiladelphia. In conjunction with DesignPhiladelphia, men's clothing boutique Metro Men's Clothing will celebrate its third birthday with a champagne tasting and a special offer for shoppers: Purchase any full price item and receive 30 percent off your next item of less or equal value. Shoppers can repeat this process as many times as they desire, but the offer is only good on Saturday, October 13. Metro carries labels like Fred Perry, Scotch & Soda, Penguin, Ben Sherman, and Stone Rose.
Top off the weekend with a visit to Ardmore's Clover Market. Over 100 vendors are set to participate in this Sunday's outdoor bazaar, selling antiques, housewares, handmade jewelry, crafts, clothing, stationery, and everything in between. Food vendors will be on hand for your carbo-loading pleasure, and free craft projects will be provided for the kids. The market takes place rain or shine, from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. this Sunday, October 14.
