Homeless in Kahn Park

New, 1 comment

The park dedicated to Philadelphia architect Louis I. Kahn at 11th and Pine has a burgeoning homeless population. Residents have a range of responses, from the empathetic ("They 'have no place to go'") to the less so (it "upsets us because it drives people away'"). Kahn himself was born into extreme poverty and once said, "It's disgraceful not to give to the needy." Maybe this is his posthumous gift. [Inquirer]
