Big Reveal: $420,000 for Main Line Five-Bedroom Victorian

New, 2 comments

And now, the results of this week's PriceSpotter asking price guessing game!

This Victorian is in Bala Cynwyd, which accounts for what may seem like a low asking price. As a commenter noted yesterday, "Depends on the town, no? Ardmore could have this as 500-600K, but Haverford or Bryn Mawy would be closer to 800-900K." Bala isn't Haverford and doesn't command Haverford prices. In fact, this house may be a bit overpriced for the area. But it is the Main Line and is within the much lusted-after Lower Merion School District.

For people accustomed to city life, this house might be more appealing than a secluded Gladwyne manse at the end of a private drive. It's in a well-populated neighborhood within walking distance (Walk Score: 74) of stores and the train station, making it an easy commute for those who remain in denial about moving to the 'burbs. There's an open house this weekend: Sunday, Oct. 21, 2-4pm.
