The following information came from CBS 3 in the middle of the day Monday. Other reports have characterized the damage as less severe.
The sea is coming over the sea walls now, and pouring onto Atlantic Avenue. Huge pieces of the Boardwalk—between five and six blocks—were destroyed, hurled into the air making that part of AC look like a lumberyard from the air, according to CBS 3's Walt Hunter. The waves are cascading 30 or 40 feet in the air above the light poles on the Boardwalk and the streets there are all flooded. This is before the storm has made landfall.
