Proposals for a green space on the elevated portion of the old railroad system called the Reading Viaduct often invoke the celebrated example of New York's High Line. But has the High Line ever been the subject of artwork like that of Julia Blaukopf? The artist's mixed-media photo collages—which will be on sale—are mounted on tiles, wallpaper and panels (click on the image to see a large version of one of the collages). For added context, the green-space advocacy group VIADUCTgreene will present its vision for Blaukopf's muse. SURFACE Presents, Thurs., Nov. 29, 7pm. 603 N. American Street. Suite 602.
