This is the graffiti wall at Fifth Street and Cecil B. Moore in North Philadelphia. WHYY's Kimberly Paynter took a photo of the way it's been repainted to honor the victims of the recent school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. What would Moore, the crusading civil rights activist, have made of all this? He'd certainly note that the empathy isn't surprising: Plenty of North Philly residents know all too well the damage gun violence can do.
