Flattering Listage

Philly has landed on an idiosyncratic best-of list: Lonely Planet's Top 10 US travel destinations for 2013. Because it comes from people who write travel guides—and thus travel—it's a bit more interesting than a Travel + Leisure list burped out of an American Express cubicle (we'll take that too, though). Aside from Philly, the list includes Louisville; Fairbanks; the San Juan Islands; American Samoa; Eastern Sierra, California; Northern Maine; the Twin Cities; Verde Valley, Arizona; and Glacier National Park. Philly's highlighted for the art scene, including the "formerly remote" Barnes Foundation, the Icebox and the expansion of First Friday to the Loft District. [Lonely Planet via PPIN]
