According to a tipster, Pheasant Run is on the verge of new ownership. Designed by architect Horace Trumbauer for Eleanor Widener, the five-bedroom estate is quite close to Trumbauer's preservation-challenged Lynnewood Hall. The last public asking price for the 2.5-acre property was $795,000, which is something of a bargain if it could be returned to its former grandeur. After all, there's a lot to work with here: lush perennial gardens, a two-car garage, a carriage house, a turret apartment, a media room—even a "party loft," whatever that is.
