American City and County has selected Philly's vacant property management strategy as one of six recipients of its “America’s Crown Communities” Award. What this means? L&I just got an award. It seems surreal, but L&I Commissioner Fran Burns is not fooling around. In a city news release, Burns says: "Our vacant strategy makes it clear that we and our committed community partners will not tolerate absentee property owners bringing down our neighborhoods anymore. If you own vacant land in the City of Philadelphia, you need to take care of it.” [Curbed Philly Inbox]
