G8 Wants to Know What You Think of 2200 Amber St.

Dor Berkovitz and Nir Mamon are the team behind G8, an architecture and development firm that specializes in Fishtown, Northern Liberties and Port Richmond. Berkovitz is interested to hear what Curbed readers think about their latest project at 2200 Amber, which is obviously unusual for the neighborhood. Berkovitz says Fishtown is ripe for this kind of design. "The more modern look/type houses are attracting young professionals that cannot afford Center City or Northern Liberties prices," he says. "These people are into 'green' homes, contemporary design and value for money." The two-bedroom house is priced at $318,000 and has two and a half baths, an additional den and two balconies and a backyard patio. Berkovitz says it's not always easy getting total community buy-in. "While there are always conversations between longtime residents of the area and newcomers about aesthetics," he says, "in reality we cannot please everyone, and some people will like it and some don’t."
