Farewell, Dick Clark.

It's hard to imagine a world without Dick Clark, but here it is—right now. Clark started his career in Philadelphia, where American Bandstand (originally Bandstand) began. The original Bandstand building is at 46th and Market and sports a historical marker. The video above was shot in that building. Clark lived in Drexel Hill for years while he was making his bones in Philly. And yes, we did love him for sentimental reasons.

Here's a 1960s tourism video of Philadelphia narrated by Dick Clark. We were ready to move here by the time it was over, and then we realized we already live here.
