Fire Dept. Commish Lloyd Ayers is going to make a public announcement today about the new fire initiative for 2012. It comes during the city's recent epidemic of fires, in which residents and firefighters have lost their lives and buildings have burnt to the ground. As befits such a serious occasion, Ayers will make his announcement at Popi’s Italian Restaurant on South 20th Street betwixt Packer and Penrose.
