Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey was quoted in the New York Times on Friday in a report about a meeting of 250 chiefs of police. The meeting used Philadelphia as one of six case studies for a survey of crime over the course of a week in 2011. Talking about gun violence, Ramsey said, “Our streets are bleeding, and they’re bleeding profusely ... This is a crisis, it’s a terrible problem. We do own a good part of it, but others have to step up to the plate." [NYT]
