This week's top dish from Eater Philly, Curbed's restaurant, bar, and nightlife blog...

SOUTH PHILLY — Avram Hornik (Union Transfer, Morgan's Pier, Ortlieb's) got a big thumbs up from the Zoning Board of Adjustment to re-open the Boot & Saddle, the iconic former live music venue located on South Broad Street which has been dark for more than a decade. Most importantly, Hornik is keeping the giant neon boot sign that hangs from the side of the building.
RITTENHOUSE SQUARE — Nick Elmi, who was the last executive chef of Le Bec-Fin when it shuttered, has opened up his new spot, Rittenhouse Tavern, in the former Gardenia spot at The Art Alliance. Elmi has teamed up with Restaurant Associates to bring some credibility to the spot which never really got the attention of locals.

ALL OVER — A new national chain is coming to Philly in the form of Taqueria Del Sol, a Southwest/TexMex taco chain. Know for their high-end ingredients and creative menu, Taqueria Del Sol isn't your run-of-the-mill franchise, and will surely bring some good food to Philly.
