Pizza Week at Eater, Guapos Tacos Shut Down

PIZZA WEEK — Eater celebrated our first ever Pizza Week. Check out all things pizza in Philly, including best pizza shops, worst pies, critic's picks, and even a mobile wood-fired oven turning out some of the best pizza on the East Coast. PIZZA!

SOUTH STREETWhen the sign went up for Zen-Nor, it announced a coffee shop replacing what was once Daniel Stern's beloved Gayle, and then the unfortunately named Hoof + Fin. But, somewhere along the line, the new owners decided they wanted to go bigger, and have turned it into a full-fledged restaurant. Zen-Nor is planning to open their doors on Wednesday, May 16th.

ALL OVERThe Smoke Truck was named one of America's Pit Masters and Grill Geniuses by Food & Wine Magazine. Coates, who specializes in Carolina-style barbecue is joined by famous spots Standard in Washington, D.C., Franklin Barbecue in Austin, TX, and Cathead's in San Francisco.

ALL OVERJose Garces' mobile taco operation, Guapos Tacos, is no longer on the Philly food truck roster. The truck will still make appearances at festivals and can be hired for private events around town, but they're not grinding out lunch and dinner rushes any longer.
