Musings of a Starchitect: Robert A.M. Stern

Yesterday the Times published a 30-minute interview with Robert A.M. Stern. We were hoping he'd mention Philly's planned Museum of the American Revolution whose design he recently unveiled, but his firm does have about 95 projects going at the same time. He was asked if he favors a neoclassical style but he rejected the label. "I like to work in the traditions of the local place wherever I’m building," he told Vivian Marino, and that's certainly the case with the proposed museum in Philadelphia. Other interview highlights: whether he likes the term "starchitect" and how often he wears yellow socks. [NYT]
