Yes, it's true—the residents of Ventnor, New Jersey, are deeply familiar with Rastafarianism and its symbology, perhaps due to decades of head-bopping to bar bands playing "No Woman No Cry." At any rate, it seems now that they're older, they prefer plain gray—classic, elegant—for their utility boxes to native Ventnor artist Elyssa Glenn's boldly painted version, which several people deemed too Rastafarian. The mayor caved, the art was painted over, the townspeople have taken sides. One love, indeed. [Inquirer]
