Taylor Swift fan pages are abuzz with the news that Taylor Swift is building a home in Sea Isle City, NJ (aka the Irish Shore), where she spent time as a kid. To investigate, PhillyChitChat's HughE Dilon went to see the house, which seems to be mid-build. He found it suspiciously inauspicious considering Swift's superstar profile. He notes that the house is on a busy corner, has a "tiny lap pool," a two-car garage, and no view of the beach.
Dilon writes:
[Neighbors have] seen the streams of people come by photographing the house, bothering the construction workers with questions. No it's not "Taylor Swift's Beach House." At least 3 different neighbors did tell me who's house it was and it's no one famous. Dilon thinks the rumors are untrue, and we're inclined to agree. But Swift is so low-key. Let's not forget she grew up in Wyomissing, Pa., and still visits the Shore. About six months ago, she ate at the Lobster House in Cape May, like "a normal person," according to an employee. And she was spotted in Sea Isle as recently as three days ago.
Perhaps this house is for her parents, who used to have a vacation house in Stone Harbor, NJ. That would explain its low-key attributes, though in all fairness to the normal people of the world, it's not exactly a hovel.
