It looks like this piece of (non-commissioned?) public art just below the Art Museum along the Schuylkill Banks may have been inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, the artist profiled in the documentary Rivers and Tides. The only thing missing is a grandiose artist's statement documenting the self-sacrifice necessary to create such a work. Just kidding, Andy! Love your work—and this one as well. All the same, it's probably still a good idea to decline any invitation from a laurel-bedecked virgin to some pastoral "dance."
