Philadelphia's Sunoco—the largest refinery on the East Coast—is partnering with the Carlyle Group in a rescue of its 14,000-acre Philadelphia plant and the hundreds of workers there who thought they were losing their jobs just nine months ago. Not only is it being saved and invested in, but the new plan for the refinery is likely to create hundreds more new jobs, a development CBS 3 attributes to the "natural gas boom." United Steelworkers union head Jim Savage told the TV station: "We shocked the world. Nothing is impossible." That's Philly for you.
