Curbed Philly's Hottest Brokers Contest Begins Right Now

New, 10 comments

Let the races begin! We've rounded up all the nominations for Philly's hottest brokers and compiled the smoking-hot candidates into a bracket which we'll be running through at lightning speed this week. Up first: Tina Elmer and Reid Rosenthal. We gave each contestant a brief Proust Questionnaire, real-estate-style, so you can get to know them (though you might know Reid already from his appearances on The Bachelorlette and Bachelor Pad, but we won't get into that because we don't want to skew the results).

Name: Reid Rosenthal
Company: The Rosenthal Group at Prudential Fox and Roach Realtors
Hood: I live in Rittenhouse Square but we do business everywhere in town.
Your idea of perfect happiness: I strive to live in the moment and enjoy each passing second. Typically I'm happy after knowing that my hard work has paid off and I can sit back, put on one of my favorite bands and sip on a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. I always end up thinking about work in those moments, however. So I guess working makes me happy.
If you could change one thing about your field: It would be the current stringent lending policies of the banks. They tend to hold our settlements up lately. I don't think it should be as easy to borrow as it was during the peak, when anyone could borrow, but just a bit easier then it is now.
What is the quality you most admire in a buyer: When they know exactly what they are looking for which is actually rare.
What is the quality you most admire in a seller: When they have full faith in our services and pricing of their properties. It's our job to get our sellers the maximum amount of money for their properties. Some realtors are just trying to "move" properties but eventually that will come back to haunt your future business.
What is your favorite thing about Philadelphia: The real people and the diversity. I lived in L.A. right out of college for a year so Philadelphia was a breath of fresh air when I moved back. L.A. is known for having laid back people but I think Philly is much more relaxed than L.A. I also see real estate opportunities wherever I look in our town.

Name: Tina Elmer
Company: Prudential Fox and Roach, Welcome Home Philly Team (principal and owner)
Hood: From Northeast Philly now I’m in Rittenhouse Square
What's your favorite thing about Philadelphia: The neighborhoods and the people. Both are unique and amazing.
Who you'd most like to sell a house to: Sarah Jessica Parker bc we could talk fashion, decorating, while referencing SATC lines!
Your idea of perfect happiness: Watching Football while eating meatballs. Sports and Food equals happiness. Oh and music that is something else I couldn’t live without.
What was your funniest realtor moment: Walking in on a passed out naked person with a client who didn’t speak much English. He didn’t understand why we had to leave without continuing to check out the house. Needless to say he didn’t buy that specific house but it was very funny.
Your favorite thing about being a realtor: The clients. I love people and helping them to achieve their home owning, selling, or investing goals is an awesome feeling. I’m their realtor and friend for life!

Okay, everyone, who should advance to the next round—Reid or Tina?
