Racked Philly News Brief

Thieves went into Burberry at 17th and Walnut yesterday morning, pretended to be customers (rather than thieves), then grabbed 15 bags and fled the scene. The bags are said to be worth $16,420, which—if our math is correct—means each bag was worth slightly more than a grand. We're guessing that what they grabbed were canvas Haymarket Check totes, which generally go for slightly more than $1,000 (depending on size and leather accents) and have stiff handles that'd make them easy to grab. Either way, the already frosty reception some people get in Walnut Street stores is likely to get a little frostier this week. [Inquirer]
