By Nicholas Lohr This bi-level condo could pull double duty as an entertainer’s dream space and a bookworm’s paradise. The first floor—with its very open layou—is linked to the second floor by a spiral staircase. The second floor offers more intimate spaces, including three bedrooms and a narrow den. It seems like it'd be a catch. So what's the issue? Is it the proximity to the highway? The unconventional layout?
It was listed in April 2011 at $469,900 by REMAX/Access. Thereafter, the price was cut six times by niggling amounts (the better to pop up in search results and the like)—$100 here, $90 there. More than a year later, an actual price cut was made, and the ask went down to $419,000. A month after that, the listing was removed. A month after that, it was listed again—back at $419,900. On second thought, forget Herodotus—it's more like The Young and the Restless.
