September draws to a close with VIX Emporium's Go West Craft Fest and a bridal fashion show, both happening this weekend.
Family-friendly fun will overrun West Philly this weekend, as the thrice-yearly Go West Craft Fest sets up on the picturesque estate grounds of The Woodlands. Organized by the 50th and Baltimore Avenue boutique VIX Emporium, the festival will feature handcrafted wares from over fifty local vendors peddling everything from jewelry, accessories, and screenprinted tees, to stationery, handmade soaps, candles, and ceramics. We'll be making a beeline for letterpress paper goods from Black Heart Letterpress; this sweet vintage-looking Philadelphia tee from The Captain's Vintage; and gemstone jewelry from Michele Molesky. Also on the festival docket: live music; acrobatics from TinyCircus; yummy vegan and vegetarian food from Black Orchid; and all-natural frozen desserts from West Philly's award-winning Lil' Pop Shop. Go West Craft Fest takes place on Saturday, September 29, from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., and is free to attend.
For the betrothed, the Cherry Hill Mall will host a Bridal Showcase this Sunday, September 30 from 11 a.m.– 6 p.m. The event kicks off with a champagne brunch (free for the bride and one guest), then attendees are treated to presentations from an extensive lineup of local wedding specialists. Think: DJs and musicians; caterers and bakers, florists, limo companies, photographers, and travel agencies. At 3 p.m., gowns from Macy's Bridal Salon by Demetrios will hit the runway, representing the latest trends in bridal. The showcase is free to attend; register for tickets here.
