3 Most Expensive: From $17M to $25M, They Still Linger

This Newtown Square estate was first listed at $19.5 million in 2010. No dice, even with two separate parcels totaling more than 70 acres with significant equestrian capabilities. Oh, good for an apocalypse too. Now it's down to $16.95 million.

Here we are again at the home built for Dennis Alter, former Advanta CEO, by Rafael Viñoly. It's got more than 36,000 square feet and sits on 70 acres and served as a film set for the Harrison Ford film Paranoia. It first went on the market in Oct. 2011 and is now down to $25 million. Won't the starchitect pedigree help it sell?

Finally, this is Albermarle, a contemporary take on taking a heritage spot and creating a home that's integrated with the land around it—17 lush acres surrounded by conservancy land in Villanova. It's only been listed since June 2012, so let's not be impatient. $25 million is a lot to ask, even for a property that was once part of Androssan.
