Representatives from The SugarHouse revealed their significantly less glamorous than originally intended expansion plans. The casino floor will get extra space, the existing building will get touched up and modified, and some flooding issues will get addressed. Oh, and they'll be adding a charming seven story parking garage.
The gaming floor will increase from 58,000 sq ft to 85,000 sq ft, which will allow the casino to install 500 new slot machines and 30 new table games. The casino will also add on a poker room. Casino officials say that most of the new space will be used for "dining and event space". The second floor will get a banquet hall, which will have large windows in order to "engage the river."
$12 million will also be dedicated to replacement of a nearby sewer which is impacted by the casino.
