reNewbold Will Break Ground, Only Two Years Late

On October 16th, reNewbold, a development of 16 rowhomes and two condominiums will break ground at 16th and Moore in Newbold (or Point Breeze, depending upon your feelings about neighborhood names.) There will also be a retail space, and the developers are hoping that they'll get LEED certification for energy efficiency.

This groundbreaking is a long time coming. This development was announced long, long ago in February 2011, and while the developers have had a hard time getting ready to break ground, it seems unlikely that the groundbreaking date will get pushed back again. The developers have planned a big to-do for October 16th, including a barbecue and a ceremony.

The project was put together by LPMG, the development company owned by John Longacre, (who already owns two restaurants in the area,) and Postgreen homes, (the eco-friendly developer best known for their work in Kensington and Fishtown.)
