Which Philly Neighborhoods Are The Most Walkable?

New, 13 comments

As the fourth most walkable city in the nation, Philadelphia contains quite a few walker's paradises within its boundaries. Walk Score came out with its national rankings today, and calculated the five Philly neighborhoods with the highest level of walkability.

The top five most walkable neighborhoods in Philly, according to Walk Score, are:
1.) Center City East
2.) Center City West
3.) Bella Vista/Hawthorne/Wharton (perhaps better known as East Passyunk)
4.) Schuylkill Southwest (perhaps better known as Graduate Hospital)
5.) Fishtown

Though the top four neighborhoods are known for their walkability, and are already established as desireable neighborhoods in part because of their walkabilty, it's interesting to see Fishtown on the list, beating out neighborhoods like Northern Liberties and University City.
