'Artist's Retreat' On Girard Stuns For All The Wrong Reasons

Brokerbabble describes this Girard Ave townhome as an "Outstanding Artist's Retreat" located in Northern Liberties. It's located directly on the northern border of NoLibs, and "artist's retreat" might be a stretch: this is a landmark on Girard because of its fabulously tacky exterior (there's a wrought iron horse fountain), and the interior is nothing less than a perfect sequel to the "beautiful iron terrace with original fountain art work"

There are undoubtedly some nice features in this place: the deck looks lovely, and the loft, exposed brick, and location would be nice for an artist. The downstairs commercial space is currently in use as a gallery, and an artist could take advantage of the street level space for display and sales. However, there would be quite a bit of work in store for anyone who decided to take this place on.

House Vitals:
Size: Three bedrooms, three and a half baths.
Amenities: Strange round floor fixtures, exposed brick, a lovely roofdeck, one of a kind wrought iron exterior art, countless wall decals, a loft, and a downstairs commercial space.
Asking Price: $525,000
