Set and shot in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs, Silver Linings Playbook didn't win big at the Oscars on Sunday, but The Hotel Palomar Philadelphia is still offering a package based (loosely) around the film. The perks include a tour of Lincoln Financial Field, which did play an integral role in the film, but the same can't be said for the Broad Street Diner experience featured in the offer. Scenes from 'Silver Linings Playbook' were filmed at the Llanerch Diner in Upper Darby, a quick seven-mile jaunt from Center City.
Llanerch Diner enthusiasts have a right to be a bit outraged at their exclusion from the Palomar's deal, but maybe it's a good thing for the regulars who won't be kicked aside by a swarm of tourists.
If you're so inclined to make the trip out to the Llanerch but don't have access to a car, just take the Market-Frankford line out to 69th Street Station and hop on the #112 bus for 13 stops. The trip takes about 45 minutes via SEPTA, but it's a small price to pay for that authentic Bradley Cooper-esque experience you might be looking for.
