Built in 1928, the Drake at 1512 Spruce Street is one of the creepiest looking art deco/Spanish baroque mainstays at the southern end of the Philadelphia skyline. Opening its doors in 1929 as a hotel and making the list on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the Drake underwent extensive renovations 15 years ago and was redeveloped as high-end luxury apartments.
They've recently listed one of their penthouses, unit PH-2901, which offers some pretty slick views of the Center City skyline. If you manage to get bored up there, you could probably even try your hand at a game of Plinko on the Kimmel Center roof. But we didn't give you the idea.
Unit PH-2901 features three bedrooms and two full baths with a ton of other amenities. The 1998 renovation added tons of upgrades, like a master suite jacuzzi, hardwood floors, stainless steel kitchen appliances, and a fireplace. The two terraces are a pretty nice touch too.
For $7,192 per month, the 2,800 square foot apartment isn't made for the everyman, but it's a hell of a property nonetheless.
