Anyone who has spent even a day in Center City is familiar with the solar-powered trash compactors that litter the city, but not everyone's thrilled with their trash-compacting capacities. Though the trash compactors have reportedly saved the city $900,000, they might have also contributed to an upswing in alternative trash rejection strategies (AKA litter,) throughout Center City.
