Sexy

In 1999, South Street hung banners that said "South Street is Sexy" and one very uncomfortable spokesman had to explain them to the City Paper:"I think 'sexy' is a reasonable concept to apply to a street that has three or four sexy shops on it. It's got lingerie shops, condom shops. They are generally regarded as sexy. ...My feeling in general is that it doesn't make a whole lot of difference what you put on the banners."
