Tomorrow, Wynn Philadelphia is hosting what they're calling a "Construction Supplier, Subcontractor and Vendor Outreach Event," geared specifically to businesses owned by women and minorities. The whole shindig seems a little premature: it's a networking event, but there will also be presentations about Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board procedures.
It's no secret that all the casino proposals emphasized their commitments to diversity during the initial casino hearings. And it's also no secret that the PGCB is a ways away from making a final decision. Is this an attempt to prove Wynn's commitment to diversity? Does Wynn think he's already got it in the bag? Curbed Philly will be present at the event tomorrow to try to ferret out some answers.
