Fitler, Wash West, or the Naval Square? For $3,500, the Choice is Yours

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various neighborhoods. Is one person's studio another persons's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $3500/month.

? This apartment in the Navy Yard is spacious at 2200 sq ft, and offers three bedrooms. The interior amenities are nice but unremarkable. However, the giant roofdeck is a strong selling point. Rent is $3400/month.

? Here's a Fitler Square home which, while it does cost an arm and a leg, offers comparatively good value for the area. It's a whole house: there looks to be a patio, and the kitchen is well laid out and has a hood in addition to a gas range. The bedrooms look a little small, but for Fitler Square (and only for Fitler Square), this is a good deal. Rent is $3,500/month.

? Broker babble describes this two bedroom penthouse as "truly unique and exceptionally spectacular!", but there's no avoiding the stark reality: many of the design elements here are dated, or just bizarre. That said, nobody hates 30 foot ceilings, and though the loft bedroom may not quite live up to listing copy (which describes it as a "lofted bedroom sanctuary"), it's still a loft bedroom. Rent is $3,450/month.
