A new energy benchmarking law which requires large (more than 50,000 sq ft.) commercial buildings to report their energy useage goes into effect in October. The information will generate scores which will be available to the public, and might cause tennants and other users of buildings with bad scores to move elsewhere. [NewsWorks]
