If you're an avid I.M. Pei fan, look no further: I.M. Pei himself designed this row of homes in 1970, and one of them is on the market. Though it looks a little dated now, it's a piece of architectural history just as important as the historic brick rowhomes that neighbor it in Society Hill.
I.M. Pei's role in reimaging the neighborhood of Society Hill almost can't be overstated. After building the Society Hill Towers, he spent time building shorter, less high-profile buildings in Society Hill. This townhome isn't quite as flashy as some of the newer homes going up in Northern Liberties and the Graduate Hospital, but it played a pivotal part in the redefinition of the neighborhood.
Luckily for the new buyer, the kitchen has been updated to a more contemporary, functional design. No one wants a kitchen from the seventies, even if I.M. Pei himself installed the appliances.
