Contender for Most Intact Victorian Of Them All Asks $925K

New, 1 comment

Between the crystal chandelier, the vintage marble sink, the ubiquity of fireplaces and the gilt covered mirror above the mantle, this home might just be the Victorian home with the most intact "original character" in the whole city.

If you're into Victorian authenticity, this house is certainly for you: the original red pine floors are still intact, and the only room in the house untouched by the Victorian aesthetic of overmuch is the kitchen. Though it is a fairly boring contemporary kitchen, it's probably for the best. No one really wants to use antiquated appliances. The butler's pantry, however, is full of eerie built-ins.

The seller is offering a free year of garage parking along with the house, but after that, you'd be on your own. Still, if the stained glass door and hand carved wood situation in the master bedroom don't sell you on this house, nothing will. IT's certainly a love-it-or-hate-it special.
House Vitals:
Size: Four stories, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 4,260 sq ft.
Amenities include: A fireplace in every bedroom (but not all of them are still functional), a horror-movie appropriate butler's pantry, bay windows, crown moldings, and other assorted Victorian flourishes. A back patio is part of the deal too.
Asking Price: $925,000
· 2022 Race Street [Trulia]
