New Mural to Be Installed Directly Above Shake Shack

Shake Shack is teaming up with the Mural Arts program to bring yet another fantastical mural to the city, this time directly over the burger joint at 2000 Sansom St. If the smell of freshly spun milkshakes and grilled burgers doesn't take you back to your childhood, then artist David Guinn's Summer Rendezvous certainly will. It's sort of a familiar to his beloved Seasons pieces, although this one is more whimsical than most of his other work. Apparently, Shake Shack said the mural been in the works for over a year, with the announcement this week finally making it official. Take a peek after the jump.

Guinn will be on hand at the 20th and Sansom St. location this weekend to start the mural as part of a public paint day starting at 10 a.m. on October 18th. Artists of all ages are encouraged to come out and contribute to the piece. A public dedication is slated for December.

Here's more info on the mural itself via a recent press release:

[T]he mural presents a fantasy of plants growing up the building wall, framing the whimsical encounter between the children. Stylistically, the mural captures the freshness and fluid feel of watercolor painting on a large scale. The mural continues David Guinn's exploration of small moments of emotional connection in the monumental format of mural painting."
