Live Above the Future Kensington Community Food Co-op

Attention all you cool kids who enjoy doing crazy things like eating fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, large apartments, community supported agriculture and sustainable business, you can now rent a place above the future Kensington Community Food Co-op (KCFC). Located at 2666 Coral St. in East Kensington, the two apartments, one listed as 'huge' and the other 'large', are officially renovated and available via Craigslist. Want to live above a member-owned grocery store that will also feature an outdoor cafe/beer take-out? Of course you do!

↑ 2nd Floor Apartment [Craigslist]
Rent: $1,375/month ($40 application fee)
The Details: Listed as huge, this place is 65' long and 1,000 sq. ft. with two large bedrooms on either side of the apartment, each with bay windows. The renovation looks good, as it features hardwood floors and an open kitchen/living room format. Washer/dryer in unit also helps.

↑ 3rd Floor Apartment [Craigslist]
Rent: $1,175/month {$40 application fee)
The Details: While it's a little smaller (875 sq. ft.) than the 2nd floor unit, it's also $200/month cheaper with essentially the same amenities, although the walk up might kill you during move-in day. Washer/dryer in unit, refinished hardwood floors and tons of natural light are the key features here.

When complete, the KCFC will 4,200 sq. ft. grocery store complete with a 1,100 sq. ft. basement, an outdoor cafe and an 18-space private parking lot. According to their website, KCFC replaced a local bar and will have a liquor license for the store, which means you'll be enjoying their indoor/oudoor seating with an adult beverage sometime in the future.
