There Was a Small Fire at the Sketchy Parker Spruce Hotel

New, 10 comments

The Parker Spruce Hotel experienced an all-too-familiar scene yesterday as cars with flashing lights and sirens surrounded the area — only this time it wasn't the SWAT Team, it was for a fire. Crews were called to the notorious high-rise at 13th and Spruce St. when a fire broke out on the north side of the building around 3:30 p.m. No injuries were reported but possibly hundreds of people have been displaced, including a whole bunch of pets. This isn't The Parker's first bit of drama, it's long been the scene for drug deals (and use), women and men of the night and even jumpers from one of the top floors. It's also a place for people who are simply down on their luck or visitors don't know any better. The Parker's (probably not-so-serious) Twitter account asks the tough questions and more!

You know that story about Nero playing the fiddle while Rome burned? Well the Parker's Twitter account just wants you to know that quizzo might not be rescheduled:

In all seriousness, if you want to get a good idea of some of the seedy stuff that happens at The Parker Spruce Hotel, check out this documentary by Spencer Starnes:
