Spruce St. Time Capsule with 'Secret Passageway' Asks $1M

Let's fire up the old time machine and take a trip back to 1903, when this gorgeous Edwardian house at 1821 Spruce St. was built. Don't have a time machine? Don't be glum, chum. This house has been so well-preserved that you only need to flick through the pictures on your handy internet machine! Listed at $1M even, this 3-bed, 2.5-bath bombshell is actually two units, the main house and an artist loft. They are being sold together and, get this, are connected by a "secret passageway", according to the listing. It can be walled off and made into one unit, but why the hell would you deprive yourself of owning a home with a secret passageway for the sake of one measly closet? Also, that's not even the best part! This is one of the most ornate and preserved properties we've seen in a while. Each historical aspect in this place — the majestic coffered ceilings, the inlaid wood floors, those wood-burning fireplaces and the leaded windows — has seemingly brushed off the hands of time.

That doesn't mean that this place is out of date. The kitchen, while rather plain compared to the rest of the house, has all the modern amenities like stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and a large skylight. There's also central air and an intercom.

It is part of a condo association and HOA fees are listed as $746/month.
