It's December 1st. That means any and every self-respecting Philly rowhome owner should have their Thanksgiving themed decoration out of the windows and transitioned into full-on Christmas decorating mode — lights and all! That brings us to this 3-bed, 2-bath corner house at 4201 Greeby St in Tacony. It may look like your everyday house in Northeast Philly with the grassy front yard, large mirror in the living room and a crucifix hung in almost every room. No big deal, right? Wrong. The 4200 block of Greeby St. becomes packed with disciples of Clark W. Griswold this time of year, who sing Joy To The World and light up the entire block with Christmas displays that reel in spectators from all over the region. Christmas decorations are so big on this block that the normally two-way street will shift to one-way traffic during the holiday season for people looking to bask in its glory. Billy Penn has more:

"Here on Greeby Street, Mark Stabler is the star of the show. The father of two started the tradition years ago, and does the majority of the decorating throughout the homes that agree to it — though, he has some dedicated helpers. Every foot of the front of his house has lights on it, and soon, he'll be installing a 25-foot tree of lights on his roof."
So, if you're really in to the whole Christmas decorating thing, we can think of no better house to start your search, especially because it sounds like an awesome block in general. "It's a real tight block and everybody gets along," [Neighbor/Decorator John] Grodzsiski said. "Yeah, we break each other's stones, but we're tight. People still sit on their porches and bullshit with each other. You just don't see that on blocks anymore."
The house at 4201 Greeby St. also features a nice deck space off of the dining room area and off street parking. Given that it's been on the market for roughly a year, we're hoping the owners keep the tradition going and deck the house out for the holiday season. We'd certainly go to an ugly sweater themed open house as long as their was some egg nog and a gift exchange!
