Windermere Court Settlement

Residents of the former Windermere Court Apartments reached a settlement worth $4.75M in a case pertaining to a large fire that destroyed the building at 48th and Walnut nearly four years ago. The messy case claimed that owners Sam, David and Aron Ginsberg and their respective management companies were negligent in maintaining the property, which lacked properly functioning smoke detection, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. Philly.com reports that plaintiffs were overjoyed, with some being seen "bursting into tears" over the verdict. [Philly.com, Photo: West Philly Local]
