After vibration monitors were installed in neighboring houses, the site of the former South Philadelphia branch of the Free Library at Broad and Morris is now clear and construction is underway on a community base that roll up "a health center, library, recreation center and a CHOP urgent care center all under one roof." The complex is slated to open December 2015 and CHOP's website states that:
The new health center will allow the City to expand its provision of dental care, prenatal care, mammography and a wide range of other healthcare services for children and adults. Additionally, integrating a health center, a library and a recreation center, will allow CHOP and the City of Philadelphia to create a complex that offers clinical care, wellness, prevention and literacy services to improve health outcomes for children and adults in South Philadelphia. Meet the people behind the project on December 22nd at the Fumo Family Branch at 2437 S. Broad St. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m.
