Curbed Cup Final Four: (1) East Passyunk vs. (4) Fishtown

New, 2 comments

East Passyunk: Back-to-back wins in the Curbed Cup make the East Passyunk area the #1 seed this year. Featuring top restaurants and a great blend of old and new school neighborhood pride, East Passyunk will be tough to beat. As with last year, we've combined East Passyunk Crossing with Passyunk Square. The Armory project is rising and that vacant lot next to Pat's might even be redeveloped. We're not even going to mention the food scene, oops. Will East Passyunk continue its dominance or is a Duke-like upset brewing?

Fishtown: The scene in Fishtown has simply blown up over the past few years and 2014 saw it welcome a bevy of new restaurants and developments to take it to the next level. La Colombe's mega-flagship opened, so too did Kensington Quarters. While there was a silly rumor that is was going to be renamed Northern Liberties II, Fishtown is 'hood much like East Passyunk: A place with a mix longtime and new blood residents, a ton of great places to eat and drink and a whole lot of character. Hell, not only is it along the route of the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby but it also has Pizza Brain, the first pizza museum in the entire nation.
