Andrew Evans' time-lapse photographs compress days, weeks, and months of urban renewal into single, hauntingly beautiful images. From the ghostly helicopters buzzing above the skyline during the removal of the PNB letters to the demolition of church after church, the Independence Visitor Center, and the Youth Study Center (now the Barnes Foundation), each photo is a simultaneous reminder of what we lose when we tear down a building, and what we gain when something potentially more relevant and economically viable takes its place.
