GAYBORHOOD — Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran's original hit, Mexican-focused Lolita, reopens today after closing for about six months for a major tenth-anniversary facelift. Eater Philly's got all the details on the new look, new menu, and new full bar.
KENSINGTON — St. Benjamin's Brewing Company, the independent nanobrewery concept in South Kensington, has been long in the making, but it looks like they should finally be ready to start brewing in just a few weeks. Eventually, St. Ben's has plans for a full brewpub serving food.
UNIVERSITY CITY — Jake's Sandwich Board (known for their cheesesteaks, roast pork, and sometimes over-the-top specials) is expanding into U City with a second location with some really attractive late-night hours. Fans of the 12th St. original should take note: there's also a reno planned there this summer.
