You know that huge, overgrown lot across the street from Pat's King of Steaks on the corner of 9th and Wharton Street? Apparently, the land and the adjacent building have been sold for $1.25m and $275k, respectively. It's unclear who bought the property and what their plans are for it, but it's certainly positive news the Passyunk Avenue area, which has seen a housing and commercial boom in recent years. The site used to house St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, and both the lot and building are currently owned by Anna Olivieri, a member of the Pat's King of Steaks family. The lot has sat vacant and trash-strewn for years as an eyesore to the community, so much so, that even the likeness of Frankie Avalon can't seem to spruce it up. - Words and Photos: James Jennings ·Omg, Huge Lot Next to Pat's is Sold [Naked Philly]
